Google and Microsoft to commit over $30 billion towards cyber security in the US after meeting with President Joe Biden

Google and Microsoft have both pledged a combined $30 billion towards cyber security following a White House event with President of the United States, Joe Biden.

The aim is to develop a five-year plan that will improve the cyber security of the country, with the involvement of Google and Microsoft’s products.

On August 25^th, members of the Biden cabinet, national security team and leaders from the private sector attended the meeting about improving the country’s cyber security.

The Fact Sheet by the White House, published in relation to the cyber security event, states that Google and Microsoft are to lead the efforts of the White House to convene with private sectors of the country.

Google has pledged a $10 billion budget towards aiding in cyber security and improving their systems for the entire tech landscape. Google will also focus on open-source security.

Microsoft has made the biggest contribution by putting up $20 billion towards cyber security, with $150 million allotted for the US government agencies.

Apple, Amazon, and other big tech companies have pledged to provide services and programs for this matter.
